General Services Minimize

The Goodrich Center offers a range of services for people with hearing loss or deafness. We also have services for family members and for the general public.

Technology Assistance Minimize

Assistive devices can allow a person with hearing loss to live more easily and independently. Our technology assistance program includes the display and demonstration of a variety of assistive devices: visual alerting devices, telephone devices, and listening devices for special situations. This program allows people to see and try out some of the products in order to determine which ones best fit their needs. For more information, follow this link: Assistive Devices

Special Telephones Minimize

The telephone can become a barrier to people with hearing loss or other types of communication difficulty.

The state of Texas provides special equipment to overcome the barriers. Texas residents who have some type of communication disability can qualify for free or low cost special telephone equipment. People who have difficulties with hearing, vision, speech, memory, or dialing the telephone can benefit from this service. The Center provides application forms, information, and assistance with the State of Texas Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program (STAP).

Information, Referral, and Case Management Minimize

People often don’t know where to turn to get help. We provide information on hearing loss, deafness, classes, services, devices, events, and other organizations. We assist with resolving problems and communication issues. We connect people to other helpful resources. We seek to empower people to act in their own best interest.
